Our History

I wonder if our readers (???) wonder who the people are on this WEB site? I also wonder if our lost relatives (Albert Felicelli’s children, our cousins in Florida) read the site and wonder about us (somewhat self absorbed?). Also, are Rube (Telluride area) and Sergio (Arizona) related? Is the Felicelli bakery (in Florida) run by any of our relatives? If anyone can answer these questions we would be glad to hear from you, via the website.

We, the Chicago area Felicelli’s, are descended from Guiseppe Felicelli of Montegallo, Italy. It appears that Guiseppe (wife’s name not known) had four (4) boys: Francesco, Chlarindo, Umberto, and Zelindo and one (1) girl: Maria Antonia.

From what we have gathered (info not guaranteed):

• Francesco (arrived US in 1901) and had one (1) child: Frank.
• Chlarindo (arrived US 1905) and had three children: Armondo, Thomas, and William.
• Umberto (arrived US 1907) and had two (2) living children: Albert Anthony and Joseph.
• Zelindo (arrived US 1907-renamed Frank) and had two (2) children: Dr. Nello Michael Felicelli and Caroline (married Frank Grimaldi).
• Maria Antonia: (Spouse: Camillo Tammarro?) UNK-may have stayed in Italy.

Umberto, my grandfather, was a tailor who, I believe was born in Montegallo (in the region of Ascoli Piceno)
around 1884. He immigrated to the United States in 1907 and returned in 1915 to marry. He and his new wife, Evalina Estolfi, returned to the US on the San Guglielmo, arriving at Ellis Island on September 20,1915.

They settled in Chicago, IL and had three (3) children:

1. Joseph, who died at childbirth or early in life
2. Albert
3. Joseph who married Elizabeth Holzman (from Chicago, IL) and had ten (10) children:
   1. Joseph married Julie Fairfield and they have seven (7) children: Jennifer, Joseph, Mark, Emily, Annie, JJ, and Daniel. They currently reside in the Detroit, MI area.
   2. John married Lynne Galbreath (from Pittsburgh, PA) and they have three (3) children: Jason,
      Nicholas, and Ellen. They currently reside in the Loveland, CO area.
   3. James currently resides in the Chicago area.
   4. Michael married Mary Katic (from Chicago, IL) and had one (1) child, Rebecca who is currently residing in the Naples, FL. They divorced and Michael subsequently married Sally Cunningham (from Chicago, IL). They have two (2) children, Ashley and Michael, and currently reside in the Chicago area.
   5. Patricia married John McGinn (from Chicago, IL) and they have two children, Andrew and Alexander. They currently reside in the Chicago area.
   6. Marilyn married David Boettger (from Chicago, IL) and resides in the Chicago area.
   7. Judith married David Baldwin (from Chicago, IL) and resides in the Chicago area.
   8. Gerald married Katie Barry (from Minneapolis, MN) and they have three (3) children: Meagan, Michael, and Gina. Jerry and Katie still reside (at least at this time) in the Minneapolis area.
   9. Robert married Eileen Christafaro (from Chicago) and they have three (3) children: Kenneth, Matthew, and Kathleen. They currently reside in the Chicago area.
   10. Paul resides in the Chicago area.
