Mya – 4 Months

As of April 10th, Mya was 4 months old!  She is getting cuter and cuter every day.

She is now getting a little bit better control of her arms.  She can swing at objects, and she grabs everything and brings it to her mouth.  She also loves to suck her fingers, thumb, basically whatever part of her hand she can get in her mouth.

Mya has also started laughing with her mouth closed.  I’m not really sure where it came from, but it’s pretty darn cute.

Her 4 month stats are below:

  • Weight:  15 lbs, 8 ozs (80th percentile)
  • Height:  26.5 inches (99th percentile)
  • Head circumference:  41.5 cms (75th percentile)

Sleep has been going okay.  It was going really well with some 8 or 9 hour stretches at the beginning of the month, but then she got a cold, we traveled to Brown County, we had to stop swaddling, and things haven’t been the same since.  It takes a couple hours to get her to finally sleep at night, she usually wakes up 2-3 times throughout the night, only naps if someone is holding her, and rarely sleeps in her bed after about 6AM.  We are going to work on some of these things over the next month to try to make some progress towards better sleep for everyone.  I have a whole sleep plan outlined, so here’s hoping it gets a little better!

Mya is also now sitting in a high chair at the dinner table.  No food yet, but she likes play with Sophie the giraffe and watch all of us eat.

Today she actually rolled over for the first time.  This was a first for her, and she ended up doing it about 3 times in a row.  It was from tummy to back, and she was really happy with herself once she did it.  Way to go Ms. Mya!

Her favorite things are still Bryson and Kizzie, but I think Mommy and Daddy are up there too.  I can’t really remember what life was like before we had 2, but I know it is definitely a little sweeter having such a wonderful little girl in our lives!  Mya – you are so loved!
