Last weekend was busy! We celebrated Easter at Grandma and Grandpa Slattery’s. It was complete with a neighborhood Easter Egg hunt upon arrival. Mya loved picking up all the “balls” (eggs), as she crawled from egg to egg and put them in her basket. She then clapped after she put each in.
Bryson had fun running from egg to egg, picking them up. He would pick one up, then run to another one that was in his line of sight, as fast as he could. I think he enjoyed making silly faces with Patrick before the hunt, and petting the bunnies / chicks more than actually doing the Egg Hunt itself.
And of course this happened…
Saturday night we had pizza and a big sleepover with EVERYONE at the Slattery’s. All the kids except Mya and Claire slept in Grandma and Grandpa’s room. They slept well, even if it was way later than their normal bedtime.
On Sunday morning, the Easter Bunny had come to visit, and everyone found their baskets. WE died some Easter eggs, and colored on them with crayons.
We had a delicious lunch with ham and all the yummy side dishes, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt for just the kids. They all ended up with a ton of eggs, and had at ton of fun! What a fun weekend!
The Monday after Easter was opening day for the Reds, so Erin and I decided to take the kids down to see the Opening Day Parade. We stopped at Skyline for lunch, and it was free Cheese Coney day. Bryson was happy to tell the waitress that he was wearing his “Chicago Reds” shirt. At least he got part of it right. 🙂
Bryson and Abigail had fun at the parade, dancing to the music and watching the horses, bands, and firetrucks. Mya loved seeing all the dogs walk by, and seeing the big inflatable pig and baseball during the parade.
What a fun time! Welcome back warm weather! We missed you!
