Tube Are In (Again)

Bryson and Mya both have tubes in their ears.  Everything went well with surgery yesterday.  Bryson also had his adenoids taken out this time, which is supposed to help lessen the risk of ear infections.

We had to be there 1.5 hours early, the kids couldn’t eat or drink anything, and the doctor was running 1 hour behind schedule, but overall, it really wasn’t too bad.  Bryson and Mya got to play with lots of fun toys, which the nurses kept bringing to our room.

The surgeries were quick, and Mya woke up calm from the anesthesia.  Bryson, on the other hand, was not a happy boy when he woke up.  It felt like there was nothing we could do to help him, which was tough.  Bryson got to leave the hospital in a race car wheel chair.  As you can tell from the picture below, he still wasn’t very happy.  When we got to the car, he asked if we could take the race car home, but they said no.  😛

The nurses said sometimes the anesthesia makes the kids sick and not have much of an appetite, but that definitely wasn’t the case with these 2.  When we got home, they ate a big lunch, and were really pretty active and in good moods the rest of the day.

Here’s hoping that ear infections are now a thing of the past!
