Warm Weather

It’s been almost a month since I last posted.  Now that the weather has been warm, we’ve had a busy few weeks.  We’ve been playing outside lots!

We’ve also been to King’s Island a couple times.  Mya is quite the little thrill seeker.  Here is Bryson and Mya on the “slow, slow, fast” as Bryson likes to call it.  At the end, Mya yells “Go! Go! Go!”

We also had 2 baby deer born in the yard next to us.  One morning they just appeared there, with the mom next to them.  They could walk, but shakily.  They had just been born earlier that morning, and had no way of getting out of the yard next door, because it was fenced in and locked shut.  The house is vacant and for sale, so there was no one there to unlock the gate either.

Somehow, one of the baby deer got into another yard, so then they were split up, and the mother didn’t know what to do.  Our neighbor ended up wrapping the baby in a towel (while the mother was away) and moving it back to be with it’s sister / brother in the fenced in yard.

That evening, my Dad took the bolts off the gate next door, so that the baby deer could get out once the mom came back.  The next morning the baby deer were gone.  We hadn’t seen them for over a week, but just today, Nick saw one sleeping in the yard next to us.  It was pretty cool to see the little, teeny, tiny babies!

Nick went to his first tournament away from home (since Bryson was born), and played in Tennessee with his master’s men’s team, FoG.  They finished 4-3, and all managed to survive with minimal injuries.  I’d call it a successful weekend.

The kids and I stayed home, and we had a busy weekend, since Grandma and Grandpa were visiting.  We went to Abigail’s 4th birthday party.  It was at the Park’s house with lots of outdoor fun, sprinklers, and even a rainbow cake.  We had a blast!

On Sunday, we went to a Catholic church festival, which is a big thing in Cincinnati.  Bryson and Mya played a few games.  Bryson rode the elephant ride, and Mya got to taste her first sucker, thanks to Grandpa.  She loved it!

This past week, I got to see one of my favorite bands in concert – Dave Matthew’s Band.  It was a great concert with lots of their classic songs.  I can’t believe it’s been 19 years since I first saw them in concert.

And we took the kids to Home Depot’s Build a truck, where Mya got to participate for the first time.  Whew. it’s been a busy month!

Oh and the Blackhawks are now tied 1-1 in the Stanley Cup Finals.  How could I forget that?  Busy, busy!

I’ll try to keep up more during June, but no promises!
