Bryson – 4 Years Old

Bryson is now 4 years old!  Happy 4 years Mr. B!IMG_0113 (2)

We celebrated Bryson’s birthday on Thursday, July 30th, since we were travelling to Clifty Falls on his actual birth day (more on this trip later).  Nick and I both took the day off work to spend it with Bryson.  We gave him the choice of what he wanted to do.  Suggestions included King’s Island, library, aquarium, splash park, park, etc.  I think Bryson still had the splash park from Colorado on his mind, so he said without hesitation, “Splash Park!”

We decided to head down to Smale Riverfront Park, which is a brand new park by the Red’s stadium.  It opened in the Spring, and we haven’t had a chance to check it out.

Since we were heading downtown, I also asked Bryson if he wanted to grab a birthday doughnut on the way.  Obviously, he said, “Yes!”.

Holtman’s has been rated the top doughnut in Cincinnati and is located in downtown, so we decided to give it a try.  Bryson chose the blue sprinkles, ate the whole thing, and of course loved it.

After Holtman’s, we headed to Smale.  There were some really, cool, interactive playgrounds and a ton of water structures to play in.  Plus there was a brand new carousel that the kids got to ride.  Bryson chose the bat.  I’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the Smale story:IMG_0160 IMG_0252 IMG_0302

In the afternoon, we asked Bryson if he wanted to do anything, but he said he just wanted to stay home and play with his new toys, so that’s what we did.  We set up race car tracks, played dinosaurs played with Rescue Bots, and read books.  It was fun, and everything Bryson wanted.

At 4 years old, Bryson is asking smart questions, able to write his name, knows all the letters in the alphabet, and can draw his own self portrait.  Some of his favorite things are dinosaurs, Transformers Rescue Bots, the iPad, water play, trains, going to the library, playing with his friends at Day Care, listening to stories, and Mya (sometimes).

He dislikes getting woken up from sleep, having the attention on him, Mya (sometimes), and trying new things.

He is such a sweet, energetic, goofy, caring, sensitive, thoughtful little boy.  I love picking Bryson up from day care, when he runs over to me with a huge smile on his face.  These times are so precious, and he’s growing up way, way too fast.  We love you so much Mr. B!  Happy 4th Birthday!
