Mya’s First Red’s Game

Mya went to her first Red’s game this past weekend.  We were supposed to go with Larry, Ellen, and Marin, but unfortunately they were sick, so didn’t make it in for the Labor Day weekend.  Grandma and Grandpa Slattery were able to use the tickets in their place, so they didn’t go to waste.

It was a HOT day for a game.  It was a high of 91 and sunny.  We packed a lunch and ate it when we arrived at the ballpark.  We got there about 10 minutes before the game started, so the kids could hear the National Anthem.

Bryson made it through the first out, and then asked, “when can we go home?”  I think he was a little hot.  There were almost no seats in the shade either.  We ended up sitting through 2 innings and then taking a lap around the ballpark.  There was lots to look at and a play-set to play on.  The reds even have a brand new nursing suite, which Mya and I had to check out.

Mya also got her first Red’s game certificate, and she fell asleep on the walk.

I think the highlight of the game for Bryson was when be bought a frozen lemonade.  We stayed through the 6th inning, and when we left, the Reds were winning.  They ended up losing though, 6-8.  They aren’t doing so well this year.  Oh well.  There’s always next year…
