Bryson is now 6 years old! Happy Birthday my not-so-little man!
Bryson is getting so big! Stats from his 6 year old well-check are below:
- Height: 48.6 inches (94th percentile)
- Weight: 57.4 pounds (92nd percentile)
Some of his favorite things are Legos, Pokémon, and dinosaurs. He also really likes art: coloring, drawing, painting, and using chalk on the driveway outside. His favorite animal is still cheetahs. He asked for a life-sized stuffed Cheetah for his birthday. We did not get him one, however he still has Marky to play with, which is definitely one of his favorite toys. He also loves to play with the slot cars that Grandma and Papa Feli gave him for his birthday.
Bryson sleeps and eats well. He goes to bed around 7pm and gets up around 6:30am. Some of his favorite foods are mac & cheese, pizza, veggies & ranch, skyline, McDonalds, tacos and fruit. He can be a big eater when he wants to, often times eating more than me. He’s a growing / active boy, so I understand his big appetite.
Bryson loves to have playdates with his friends, Jacob Wetzel and Jackson Cain. Unfortunately Jackson recently moved away, so playdates are a little tougher now.
He also does not like surprises. He likes to know what is going on. I surprised him one day, by telling him we were going to swim lessons, but instead going to King’s Island’s water park. I could tell he would much rather have known that he was going to KI. Surprises aren’t his thing, and that’s okay.
He has a great smile. Bryson is kind and inquisitive. He is a rule follower. He still talks a lot. In the car, he is constantly asking questions and making conversation. He is funny and gets along with most everyone. He got the teamwork award at Kindergarten last year, and I can definitely see why. He is easy going and makes us laugh with his silly antics and funny ways.
He is also very smart and starting to figure things out. For example, at Clifty Falls, we were playing baseball, and someone suggested boys vs girls, but we ultimately decided on kids vs parents. Bryson spoke up and said, “Wait, I think the parents are pretty good. I don’t know if this is such a good idea.” Ha! Bryson also picked up his new fishing rod and with very little instruction from Nick, learned how to cast it in the backyard. He was a pro!
Bryson has also become pretty brave. He talks to just about anyone. Long gone are the days of Bryson being quiet and reserved. He also surprised me with his bravery, when he rode Mystic Timbers at King’s Island. It was his first big roller coaster, and he decided all on his own, that he wanted to ride it, and he did.
God has blessed Bryson with so many amazing gifts (kindness, bravery, smart, inquisitive). I can’t wait to see what other good plans God has for Bryson. He is such a blessing to us, and we love him so very much!
Happy 6 years Mr. B!
