Fall Soccer

Mya and Bryson are playing fall soccer, and they get to be on the same team, “The Teal Tigers”.  RRRaaawrrr!

They play one night per week.  The first 30 minutes is skills and drills, followed by 30 minutes “fun” game with no score keeping.  During the game, they split onto 2 fields (1 with older kids and 1 with younger kids), so Nick and I have to split up and each watch part of each kid’s game.

Bryson is one of the oldest kids on his team.  He’s definitely gotten a little more aggressive, and doesn’t mind being in the mix on the little tiny field.  His first night playing, he scored a goal.  He also had a boy on the other team who kept pushing him, grabbing Bryson’s shirt, and telling Bryson he was not nice for kicking the soccer ball.  Bryson took it like a champ though and just kind of ignored the other kid.

Mya was so excited to play!  She asked every morning for a week if today was the day she got to go play soccer.  She may have been more excited about getting to wear her “Frozen” cleats than actually playing soccer, but that’s alright…whatever makes her happy.  She had a lot of fun.

During the game, she watched the ball a lot, and occasionally kicked it.  She also would come tell me or Nick every time after she kicked the ball….usually giving us a hug.  Check out the cute video below of Mya spotting Nick, and running over to give him a hug.
