Well we received a bread maker from my mom and dad a while ago. We decided that we might as well start using it. It a lot of instructions up front but once you complete a batch its much less daunting.
We started off with making some bread. Mo bought me a 4 pack of mixes to try, a honey wheat, a honey oat, multigrain, and a sunflower mix. I decided to start with the sunflower bread for our first loaf. It wasn’t very hard at all, I even messed up and didn’t add the ingredients in the right order. Luckily it didn’t make much of a difference and turned out just fine. It was delicious and we still have a slice or two left for the eating.
Next up I tried my luck at pizza dough. This had to be easy since there is no cooking involved just some mixing and waiting. This time I followed the correct order of ingredients and set the bread machine up for dough. Using the quick rise yeast it only took about 45 minutes in the machine to knead and what not. This is where the tricky part came in. I realized that once I got the dough out of the machine that we did not have a rolling pin. After about 10 minutes of fight with the dough and trying to “toss” the dough in the air I finally made a makeshift rolling pin out of a big vitamin bottle and some wax paper. It ended up pretty good and it was a delicious pizza to eat.
Here are some pictures of the process.
