A productive weekend

Well I am going to try to make this a regular thing for me instead of a monthly thing.

First off I had a weekend home alone with just Kizzie (our dog) and I.  I spent 80% of it cleaning the first floor of the house.  Why you ask?  Well we were supposed to have a cleaning company come at 9am on Saturday.  It wasn’t until waiting till 10am that I figured that they were not coming. I decided that since I did not have any plans I could just clean the house since it was supposed to be done anyhow.

I started in the kitchen, set the auto clean for the oven and cleaned the counters and everything (minus the fridge).  Moving on to the dining room figuring this wasn’t too bad.  The dining room being so small didn’t take much time at all.  On to the main room, I was picking up and dusting when the doorbell rand and Kizzie went all crazy.  It turns out that the cleaning people are just now showing up.  After securing Kizzie I opened the door and started to talk with them.  This was no ordinary feat as they only spoke a small bit of english.  I ended up on the phone to someone somewhere explaining that they were supposed to come at 9am and that I was already doing there job.  More talking about rescheduling and what not and I gave the phone back to the them and they left.  I finished all but the bathroom which I left till Sunday.

After enough cleaning for the day I was browsing the internet to find the average price to exchange the Xbox 360 elite for a Playstation 3.  I don’t really play many games anymore and have always wanted a Blu-ray player so this solved the problem.  I was going to foray into the world of Ebay selling but turns out there are a bunch of fees.  So I decided to check the local Gamestop which was running a promotion on game returns and console returns.  In the end I am a proud new owner of a Playstation 3.  I only have the old Final Fantasy 7 game and FF7: Advent children Blu-ray (looks beautiful btw).  That should last me a while.

Now that I am in the world of Blu-ray I can switch over our netflix to send us Blu-ray discs instead of regular DVD’s.  This will be great and I don’t have to keep buying DVD’s except the ones that I really like and want to see multiple times.  I also solved the problem of playing music, images, videos thru media center/xbox.  Solution…. F them.  Now I will probably need a bigger hard drive for all the content but not yet.

A long and successful weekend at home done.
