Bryson – 2.75 years

Bryson is now 2.75 years old. My next “Bryson update” will be when he’s 3. How is that even possible?

The past 3 months have brought a lot of change for our little man.

Let me tell you about the good, the ugly and the silly.

The good…

He now (almost always) tells us when he needs to go potty! Hooray! He even found us on Easter at the Park’s (while he was playing, none the less) to tell us he needed to go potty.  He’s also able to hold it for a few hours.  We no longer have to try to go potty EVERY hour.

He’s healthy and growing like a weed. He’s now one of the big kids at the train table at the library.  Crazy!

He’s also become pretty sweet to Mya. If she’s fussing, he will go over to her and say, “It’s okay. Bryson’s here.” This melts my heart. It’s so cute.

The Ugly…

He now knows how to turn and open the door handles. This may not seem like a bad thing since he is reaching milestones, but the other night I went upstairs to put Mya to sleep. Bryson was happily playing with one of his toys downstairs, and I told him that Daddy would be down in 2 minutes. I went up to get Mya. Nick went into our bedroom to shut the window and saw a frisbee flying in the backyard. Bryson had let himself out to throw the frisbee to Kizzie.  We now have door handle locks on all the handles leading out of the house.

WHY’s – everything is “Why?”.  It is non-stop.  “Why?  Why?  WHY?”  It’s cute, but exhausting at the same time.  I read somewhere that children who are particularly inquisitive as toddlers grow up being geniuses.  I keep reminding myself every time that he asks why that this is most likely the reason.

The Silly…

Bryson likes to pretend he’s not working. He moves his mouth but no words come out. We have to put “batteries” in to fix him. After we do that and flip the switch he starts talking again.

Bryson also loves to talk about what we did each day. He loves hide and go seek and jumping. He can now jump from 2 stairs instead of just 1. He also loves the iPad, which we have to limit, because otherwise he would be on it all day.
