I looked at the calendar today, and was a little shocked when I saw it was July 10th already, which means Mya is 7 months old. Now that summer is here, it feels like we’ve been non-stop busy!
In the past month, Mya has had 2 double ear infections, after no ear infections for 6 months. This isn’t the trend we were hoping to see! Right now she’s on her second round of antibiotics, and we can tell that her ears are really bothering her. She doesn’t smile nearly as much, and she fusses if she’s not nursing or being walked around. This has definitely made me miss her laid back, happy, go with the flow personality. We are getting lots of cuddle time, which is nice, but hopefully the antibiotics work this time, and the ears get better!
Sleep was going relatively well, until the ear infection. Now she’s up every couple hours again, and has trouble getting back to sleep. Hopefully we’ll get into a good routine once the infections clear up.
Mya is still trying all different kinds of food. She’s started biting down on the foods and breaking off little pieces, which she mainly just spits out. Her favorite thing is still carbs – pizza crust, toast, tortilla. She also seems to really like bananas. She’s working on her pincher grasp, but for now it’s still primarily a full fist grab.
New things this month include making an M sound, especially when she’s mad. Bryson and I thought we heard a “Mama”, but I’m not 100% sure. Bryson also said he heard a “Bry-Bry”…which I definitely did not hear. Nice try Bry-Bry! 🙂
Mya has also started kind of clapping her hands, but only when she has a toy in it.
On the fourth of July, when she was being held by everyone else, I realized just how big she has gotten. It won’t be long before she’s walking around with the rest of her cousins. It’s so fun watching her grow!
