We had another super, fun weekend at Brown County this year. I know the kids had a ton of fun too…Bryson told me over and over again that he NEVER wanted to leave Brown County.
We spent a ton of time at the pool, even though the water was quite chilly. It didn’t seem to bother the kids too much though. Mya insisted she wasn’t cold, until her hands were starting to turn blue. At that point I told her we better get out and warm up, which she was okay with.
Bryson was constantly walking up the stairs at the pool to get to the slide. I wasn’t sure if he was going to go down it this year or not. On the first day, he was wavering back and forth. Abigail, Patrick, and Madison were going down the slide, and Bryson said he wanted to go. I was kind of expecting him to get to the top of the stairs and then walk back down. He made the climb to the top, and next thing I knew, he was the FIRST of the 4 to go down the slide. He loved it! After going down a few more times, he told Nick, “this is the best thing ever!”
Swim lessons has definitely helped with the kids’ confidence in water! Mya didn’t want me to help her at all in the lazy river. She loved floating around in her puddle jumper.
All the pool time and playing with cousins wore the kids out. Mya refused to sleep in her pack-n-play, so I got to sleep in bed with her. There were multiple times I had feet on my back and Mya was taking up 2/3rds of the bed, but it was still fun. I liked waking up on Saturday morning to Mya hugging my neck saying, “Mommy, I love you!” (even if it was 6:30 AM).
Bryson was so worn out that he slept in until 9 AM today, after going to bed last night at his normal time. Mya also slept in until 8 AM. Both kids are usually up by 6:45 or 7 AM, so hopefully now they are starting to feel caught up from the long, fun weekend.
Until next year…it was fun Brown County!
