He’s already half a year! Happy half-birthday, Landon!
This month has been full of changes. Landon is mostly able to sit on his own. He still topples over every now and then, and gets stuck in the bent forward position, but other than that, he is pretty good. He is also rolling over from his tummy to back pretty consistently. On his back, he is rolling to his sides, and likes to sleep that way. He also loves to grab his toes. He hasn’t quite mastered rolling from his back to his tummy yet. I’m sure that will be soon.
With sitting on his own, he is no able to eat some solids. We started him with cucumber, and he LOVED it. He would put it in his mouth, and rip it out of his mouth, like he was trying to mimic us taking bites. After the cucumber, he has also had banana, avocado, mango, carrots, bell peppers, pizza crust, broccoli and chicken. He isn’t eating a ton, but he is getting at least a little down, because his poop is starting to change. Check out the cute video of him eating below:
Landon loves watching Bryson, Mya and Kizzie. He also gets super excited when he sees the Buzz Light Year toy. His arms and legs start going crazy, and he watches with big eyes. Landon is getting better control of his arms, and he loves to grab toys and bring them to his mouth.
Earlier this month, Landon was spitting up a ton. His shirt was getting changed a couple times a day, because it was soaked with spit-up. Luckily this has slowed down, and he is spitting up less frequently.
His stats from his 6 month appointment are below:
- Height: 27.5 inches (84th percentile)
- Weight: 17 lbs, 4 oz (44th percentile)
- Head Circumference: 43.5 cm (54th percentile)
Landon is one of the smiliest babies. He smiles all the time, and at all kinds of strangers. It is adorable. When we go to the doctor’s office though, he does not like doctors. Maybe he remembers the shots. He cries when any of the doctors even look at him. It’s pretty crazy. Every where else, he is “Mr. Smiley” though!
Sleep is going a little better. He is still waking 2-3 times a night. I’m only nursing him 2x at most, but it’s still exhausting. He is usually sleeping from 7:30 PM -7:30 AM, which is nice. The last hour or so is sometimes in his swing.
Naps are better. We can now have him sleep in his pack-n-play. He usually only naps for 30 minutes, but goes down with out a fuss. He is still doing 3 naps per day, and occasionally we get one that lasts more than 30 minutes, but not too often.
Landon – I love seeing your smiling face every day. Thank you for bringing so much joy to our lives! We love you so, so much!
