Landon – 9 Months

Landon is now 9 months!  He is such a sweet, active little boy.  And can we talk about those eyes?  They are gorgeous, little man!  They are kind of a grayish, greenish, blueish color, depending on the light.  I could stare at them all day!

Landon is also an active little boy.  He is hard to hold, because he is constantly trying to move to get something in his hands.  He always has to be exploring something.  The majority of the time, that is not toys.  He loves pens, nail clippers, the monitors, tissues, wires, paper, fuzz, etc.   Toys are just meh.

Landon also started crawling on 3/8.  Check it out below:

Landon is also pulling up on things a little bit.  He can’t pull up on high things, but loves to stand and hold on to a diaper box or things that are about at his waist level.  He loves pushing up with his legs and testing out how strong they are.  I think he is going to figure out this walking thing pretty soon.

Landon is still a pretty good eater.  He has gotten a pretty good grasp on his pincher grip.  This makes it easy to give him tiny pieces.  He still prefers big chunks sometimes.  Like today, I was giving him little pieces of a nectarine, but he kept screaming at me when he saw the big nectarine.  I gave him a slice like an apple, and he was much happier to pick up the big chunk and just gnaw on that.  His favorite foods are graham crackers, applesauce, and pears.  He also really loved Mexican food (beans, rice, guacamole).

In the above picture, you can also see him doing his excited arms.  When he is excited about something, he makes a fist and pulls his arms down and in, like he is really excited.  Mya used to do this all the time too!

Landon has also become very verbal about telling us what he wants.  He isn’t quite signing yet, but he waves his arms excitedly when he is trying to tell us something.  When we do the sign or say the words that he was hoping for, he gets super excited, smiles big and waves his hands faster and squeals a little.  He also screams if something is taken away from him or if the kids (Mya) are getting a little too much in his face.

Sleep has been going well.  He is still waking up only once per night (most of the time), and taking two solid naps during the day.  If he misses his morning nap, he tends to be a mess for his afternoon nap though.  I think he is overtired, and he just starts waking up after every 30 minutes and crying.   We usually have to hold him when this happens….it’s rough.  😉

Landon also likes to try to throw things.  He doesn’t throw them very far, but he releases things and likes to watch where they go.  One night at dinner we were giving him a spoon with pre-loaded applesauce.  Every time he wanted more, he would throw the spoon across his tray towards me.

Landon’s 9 month stats are below:

  • Height: 28.5 inches (57th percentile)
  • Weight: 19 lbs 0 oz (38th percentile)
  • Head Circumference: 45 cm (50th percentile)

Cuteness is off the charts (like all our kids)!  We love you so much Land-man!
