Bryson – 6.5 Years

Bryson is now 6 and a half years old.

He currently loves to tell jokes.  He knows some good ones, and tries to make up other ones, that are usually just silly, and don’t make a ton of sense.  One of his made-up jokes was, “What do you get if you throw butter outside?”  Answer:  “A butterfly”.  At least he told us he made it up.  Hahah.

Bryson is also really into football.  He likes to pretend he’s a football player and tries to catch the ball, but falls down or sometimes gets the touch down.  He also has a pretty decent spiral.  The Super Bowl was on last night, and he loved watching the first half.  The second half was way past his bedtime.  Bryson was cheering for the Eagles, and we were happy to tell him this morning that they won.

Bryson tends to get pretty grumpy if he doesn’t get enough sleep.  Reminds me of me!  He also is not a big fan of transitions (stopping play to go get a shower, having to stop watching his iPad, etc.).

He also likes to know what is going on and tends to avoid things that he doesn’t fully understand.  An example of this was the kindergarten basketball night at the High School basketball game.  All the kindergartners were invited to make a tunnel for the high school boys, and at half time, each kindergarten boy got to announce their name and run out on the court.  Bryson did not want to go.  He also does not like having the attention on him, so I think that is another reason he didn’t want to go.  We ended up not going, but I later showed him a video from a friend, and Bryson said he might consider doing it next year.  We will see!

Bryson does, however, get along with everyone.  He is a team player.  Most of the time, he and Mya get along when playing with toys or make believe.

His favorite food is probably cheeseburgers and fries with Sprite or lemonade.  He is not a huge fan of chocolate, but loves candy.

He is good at math, loves to draw, write and make books.  He loves to be outside, and has more energy than I know what to do with.

Bryson is a great kid!  He is responsible, smart, caring, fun, creative, and many, many other wonderful things.  We love you so much, Mr. B!
